Top 10 Foods to cook on a plancha
Growth and interest in griddles and planchas has increased recently, whether that’s because of their ease of use, large real estate or fat flare up avoidance that makes them a dream to cook on. Most are gas or electric... whatever your choice of grill, it's just lovely being outside cooking.
1. Smash Burgers
Almost the best reason for having a griddle.
2. Pancakes
From thin crepes to fluffy American style, these are easy on a griddle.
3. Fry Ups
A good ol’ British fry up to feed the masses.
4. Rice Dishes
Such as paella and biryani; depending on the layout of your griddle, you may need to precook the rice.
5. Noodle & Pasta Dishes
The pasta/noodles may need precooking, but a griddle stir fry is a simple way to feed a lot of people.
6. French Toast
Good brioche soaked in a custard mix, and crisped up on a griddle with plenty of butter.
7. Veggies
A load of caramelised veggies makes a great side, or can be pimped up for a main.

Monkfish, salmon and tuna all work well, or kippers for a lazy brunch.

Mussels, clams, prawns and squid all work great on a griddle.
